Rankings from AP Poll

The 2023–24 Ole Miss Rebels men's basketball team represents the University of Mississippi during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Rebels are led by first-year head coach, Chris Beard. The Rebels play their home games at The Sandy and John Black Pavilion at Ole Miss in University, Mississippi, just outside Oxford, as members of the Southeastern Conference.

Previous season

The Rebels finished the 2022–23 season 12–21, 3–15 in SEC play to finish in 13th place. They lost in the second round of the SEC tournament to Tennessee after defeating South Carolina in the first round. Head coach Kermit Davis was fired with five games remaining on the schedule after a 74–79 record in five seasons at Ole Miss. Win Case served as interim for the remaining five games. Former Texas head coach Chris Beard was hired on March 13, 2023.[1] Beard was placed on leave by Texas following his December 12, 2022 arrest for assault against a family member for strangulation after an alleged altercation with his fiancée.[2][3] He was later fired on January 5, 2023. Charges were dropped on February 15 by the district attorney due to case evidence and the wishes of his fiancée not to prosecute.[4]
