The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Air Wing was founded on 12 April 2022, and currently has a fleet of 2 aircraft, one of which being a Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander. The Air Wing has expressed interest in acquiring a helicopter, and additional aircraft.[3] Currently, the Air Wing is based in the Calvin Air hangar at V.C. Bird International Airport, but is scheduled to move to another hangar at the same airport.[3] The air wing is a unit of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force.
On 15 September 2023, the Air Wing acquired a second aircraft.[4] The new aircraft will be essential to search and rescue missions, troop transportation, humanitarian disaster relief, and medevac services.[5]
