Balvan Point (Bulgarian: нос Балван, ‘Nos Balvan’ \'nos bal-'van\) is the rocky point on the south side of the entrance to Solari Bay on Nordenskjöld Coast in Graham Land. It was formed as a result of the break-up of Larsen Ice Shelf in the area in the late 20th century. The feature is named after the settlement of Balvan in Northern Bulgaria.

Location

Balvan Point is located at 64°47′13″S 60°41′46″W / 64.78694°S 60.69611°W / -64.78694; -60.69611, which is 4.35 km (2.70 mi) north of Pedersen Nunatak, 33.7 km (20.9 mi) northeast of Cape Fairweather, 2.7 km (1.7 mi) southeast of Sentinel Nunatak, and 10.27 km (6.38 mi) south-southwest of Richard Knoll.
