The Diocese of Ourense (Latin: Dioecesis Auriensis) is one of five Latin Church dioceses of the Catholic Church in Galicia, northwestern Spain. The Bishop of Ourense has his cathedra (Latin, "chair") in the Catedral de la Virgen Madre de los Milagros in Ourense and his jurisdiction covers all the 28 districts and 735 parishes of the Province of Ourense.[1][2]

Bishops of Ourense

  • Esteban (905)[3]
  • Assur (909–922)[3]
  • Martín (923/924)[3]
  • Diego Pallítiz (938–954)[3]
  • Fredulfo (956–963)[3]
  • Diego (967–977), perhaps the same person as Diego (bishop of Oviedo)[3]
  • Gonzalo (982–985)[3]
  • Viliulfo (986–1003), also Bishop of Tuy[3]
  • Suario (1022), apparently Suarius I, who held nominal control of over several Galician sees in the wake of Norse depredation[3]
