The Grand Chancellor of Lithuania was the highest office in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.[1] This office functioned from 1504 until the end of the real union with the Kingdom of Poland in 1795 and its subsequent partition among Prussia, Russia and Austria.[1] The chancellor possessed the Great Seal of Lithuania and had Lithuanian Metrica at his disposal.[1][2]
Today the office of the chancellor has been replaced by that of the Prime Minister of Lithuania.
