The China Travel Service (Abbreviation: CTS; Chinese: 中国旅行社总社) is the tourism and travel agency of the government of the People's Republic of China. It was established on 19 November 1949 with the goal of marketing China to the rest of the world and promoting tourism. It is a subordinate agency to the National Tourism Administration and a parent organisation of China Travel International Investment Hong Kong.[1]
Controversies
During the 2019–2020 Hong Kong protests, China Travel Service reportedly leaked protestors' personal information to HKLeaks, a doxxing website that targeted supporters of the protest movement.[2][3]
