Ideopsis similis, the Ceylon blue glassy tiger, is a butterfly found in Asia, including Sri Lanka, India and Taiwan, that belongs to the subfamily Danainae (crows and tigers), in the family Nymphalidae (brush-footed butterflies). The genus Ideopsis (Horsfield, 1829) found in India. Out of these two species Ideopsis similis is the only species reported from India or North East India specifically Arunachal (Thombre & Kehimkar, 2015) & Assam (Thapa & Bhuyan, 2023). The other species I. juventa nicobarica is found in the Nicobar Island only.
