The International Public Debate Association (IPDA) is a national debate league with the goal of promoting high quality speaking styles and courtesy. The IPDA was founded in 1997 at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas by Alan Cirlin, Jack Rogers, and Trey Gibson.[1][2] While most IPDA member programs are associated with colleges or universities, participation in IPDA tournaments is open to anyone with a secondary-level education or above.
Locations
The IPDA is active in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington.
