Campaigns
Indian National Congress
The Indian National Congress started its election campaign with a rally a year before when the election was expected to occur in November 2023. Speaking at the rally in Radaur, former state chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda promised subsidised cooking gas cylinders, restoration of the Old Pension Scheme, and a hike in the Old Age Pension to ₹6,000. He also promised legal guarantee of MSP and to increase the sugarcane support price to ₹450 per quintal. Congress leader Aftab Ahmed stated that the Congress campaign, known as Congress Lao, Desh Bachao (Elect Congress, Save the Country) would aim at highlighting important civic issues such as unemployment, crime, corruption, and the plight of farmers among others.[7][8]
