Oleh Nikolenko - (Ukrainian: Олег Ігорович Ніколенко; born 19 August 1986) is a Ukrainian diplomat. He has been Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (since 2020).
Biography
Nikolenko obtained his degree in 2008 at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv received a philological education and became a translator of English and Arabic, and in 2013 - an international lawyer.
In 2008, there was a competition for the post of attaché of the Embassy of Ukraine in Libya, where since 2011, when the civil war broke out in Libya, he worked in extreme conditions, engaged in the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens. After returning from Libya in 2013, he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, where he continued to deal with the region of North Africa and the Middle East.
From December 2015 to September 2020, he was the spokesperson of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations in New York.
From May 2019 to April 2021, he was elected to the position of vice-chairman of the UN Committee on Information, participated in the reform of the UN information policy in the context of combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since 22 November 2020, he has been the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.[1][2]
