This image, taken with the Advanced Camera for Surveys aboard NASA's Hubble Space Telescope, shows the newly discovered planet, Fomalhaut b, orbiting its parent star, Fomalhaut at a distance of approximately 115 AU, which is about 18 AU closer to the star than the inner edge of the debris disk. It is the first exoplanet observed directly in visible light.
