H.N. Fretwell on a track measurement car
A young H.N. Fretwell sitting atop a three-wheeled draisine fitted with a revolution counter near Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, on the 1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in) gauge Kurrawang Wood Line. This draisine was used to periodically measure the length of track sections to ensure accurate track usage billing.
