Built in 1841 using 11 million bricks, the Ouse Valley Viaduct over the River Ouse on the London-Brighton Railway Line is 1,475 feet (450 m) long, 96 feet (29 m) high and is carried on 37 semi-circular arches with pierced piers. This photograph shows the view through the pierced piers along the length of the viaduct.
- While there's nothing in the picture that is immediately recognisable as rail-related, it's an interesting image.

- It wouldn't be the first image like this that has appeared as the selected picture. It reminds me of the photo of the Luchtspoor viaduct construction that was shown as a selected picture last year. I'd support showing this next week. Slambo (Speak) 15:52, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
