Raavan is a 2022 Indian Bengali-language vigilante action thriller film written and directed by MN Raj and produced by Jeet, Gopal Madnani and Amit Jumrani under the banner of Jeetz Filmworks. It stars Jeet, Lahoma Bhattacharya and Tanusree Chakraborty.[1] It is based on the Indian epic Ramayana, except that it is set in the modern world and Raavan is depicted as a serial killer while Ram is a god and a professor at a university and also in it, Ram has a sister named Puja and his wife is a student named Rai instead of being a goddess named Sita.

Raavan was theatrically released on April 29, 2022.[2] It received mixed reviews from critics.

Reception

Shamayita.Chakraborty of the The Times of India reviewed the film and gave it 3 out of 5 stars and wrote "Such brutality is not often seen in the Bengali film spectrum. Raavan is for those who love action and have an appetite for violence. Jeet as Raavan will not let them down."[2] Sangbad Pratidin and Ei Samay both rated the film 3.5 stars out of 5.[6][7][8]
