Sidheshwari Laxminath Sanskrit College, is a public college in Gajahara. It is a finance affiliated unit of KSDS University, Darbhanga.

History

Founded on January 26, 1967, the college stands as a testament to the vision of Dr. Shri Krishna Mishra, the former Head of the English Department at LNMU, Darbhanga. As the first President of the Governing Body, he initiated this institution with the heartfelt donation from his bereaved sister, Sidheshwari Devi, coupled with the generosity of the local community. The establishment was also deeply indebted to the tireless efforts of Late Krishnakant Mishra and Late Devkrishna Mishra, who managed to secure the necessary land for the college's foundation.

However, post-1984, the institution faced numerous challenges. In these trying times, Late Dr.Jaykant Mishra, a distinguished Professor and former Head of the English Department at the Allahabad University, stepped in to steer the college back to its intended path. Under his guidance, and with Dr. Dayakant Jha helming the position of principal, the college not only received permanent affiliation but also witnessed significant growth and development.

Today, the institution stands as a beacon of traditional Sanskrit literature, excelling in disciplines such as Vyakaran, Jyotish, and Dharmashastra.
