St Pauls Church, Glenamoy is the parish church of Glenamoy, County Mayo, in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Killala in Ireland. It is located on the R314 road to Belmullet. It is one of five churches for the Kilcommon-Erris parish.[2]
History
Before the church was completed, mass used to be said in the old school.[3] On 6 August 1935, the foundation stone of Glenamoy Church was laid, the contractors were Kilcawley, Maloney and Taylor.[3] The church was completed in 1936 and serves Glenamoy and its surrounding areas in North Mayo.[1] One of the stained glass windows is attributed to Earley Studios Limited in Dublin.[1]
In 2020, due to the prolonged exposure to harsh weather conditions, the fabric of the church deteriorated and the church was closed for restoration.[4][5][6] It subsequently re-opened to parishioners.[7]
