史貝霖

史貝霖 （英文為Spoilum，活躍於1765–1805年；有人認為其為關作霖[1]）是一位在1785年至1810年間在舊中國貿易期間活躍於廣州的中國藝術家，為廣州最早的油畫家。[2]史貝霖以布面油畫取代中國風格的紙本或絲綢的水墨畫，描繪西方商人和船長的肖像。[3]他為在廣州經營絲綢的行商義盛（Eshing為其商名，中文名為李致祥[4]）和潘振承創作了肖像畫。[5]史貝霖描繪西方商人肖像通常需要坐上兩三個小時，每次收費10美元。 [6]他還掌握了歐洲反向玻璃繪畫技術。儘管其為畫家世家的一員，孫子琳呱也是畫家，但他的生平鮮為人知，據說曾在西方四處遊歷。 [7]
