他總共發現了66顆小行星，其中值得注意的包括(1221) 阿莫爾 (成為阿莫爾型小行星的代表) 和阿波羅型小行星(2101) 阿多尼斯；他也發現和共同發現一些彗星，包括週期彗星57P/du Toit-Neujmin-Delporte。他在座落於Uccle的比利時皇家天文台服務，並將(1276) Ucclia以該地命名。
在1930年，他依據B1875.0年曆元分點的天球赤道座標，沿著赤經和赤緯，畫定了全天88個星座的邊界。
在月球上的德爾波特坑就是以他為名的。
