卡爾·考克斯
卡爾·考克斯(Carl Cox,1962年7月29日—)國際知名的鐵克諾(techno)和浩室電子音樂(house)的DJ。
生平
考克斯出生於奧爾德姆,蘭開夏郡,英格蘭。 幼年時就讀位於摩登鎮(Modern)格拉斯頓伯里男子中學(Glastonbury High Boys)。 考克斯於八零年代展開他的職業DJ生涯,創作的音樂類型是以Hardcore dance與acid house類型為主。1988年時考克斯開始嘗試在同一個時間內使用三個唱盤,他稱自己為「三盤巫師」。他也曾經在 The Eclipse, Edge, Shelly's, Sterns Nightclub, Heaven, Angels, The Haçienda等俱樂部內演出Rave、Dreamscape與Amnesia風格的浩室舞曲。至今考克斯創立了Intec Records 與 23rd Century Records這兩間唱片公司。
2007年11月3日考克斯在委內瑞拉的一場演出中爆發了一場槍戰。四人死亡,五人受傷。當時有人將考克斯面臨槍戰時的反應給錄了下來,並且將影片內容公開於網際網路上。對此,考克斯在自己的網站上發表了一段談話,表達遺憾之意。
卡爾考克斯是第一位在「DJ雜誌」所舉辦的全球百大DJ投票中獲選為第一名的DJ。
