哈佛法学院

哈佛法學院（英語：，縮寫：HLS），是美國哈佛大学的专业研究生院。位于马萨诸塞州的剑桥。其是美国历史最悠久的一所法学院，拥有目前世界上最大的法学研究图书馆[3][4]。现任院长是于2017年7月1日就任的John F. Manning（其于2024年3月14日起任哈佛大学暂任教务长，院长职务由前副院长John C.P. Goldberg暂任）。[5]该院有246位教授[6]，大多都是卓越的法学学者。该院每年招收约1900名学生（包括约1,750法律博士（J.D.）学生，180名法学硕士（LL.M.）学生及60名法学博士（S.J.D.）候选人）。[7]

哈佛法学院校园坐落于哈佛园北部，拥有数栋颇具建筑风格的大楼。

历史

哈佛法学院成立于1817年，是美国最古老的不间断经营的法学院。[8]（虽然威廉与玛丽法学院于1779年成立，但由于美国南北战争而停办，此后重新开放于1920年。马里兰大学法学院虽被许可于1816年，但在1824年之前并没有开始上课，而且还曾在内战期间关闭）。

院徽

哈佛法学院的院徽上有哈佛大學的校訓「真理」（Veritas），三綑麥穗則是羅耶爾（Royall）家族的盾徽；因為第一個捐款設置哈佛法學教授職位的小艾薩克·羅耶爾是一名奴隸主的兒子，因此院方在2016年3月14日宣布廢除此院徽。[9][10] 院方于2021年8月27日发布新院徽，其包含哈佛大学校训veritas （拉丁语“真理”）以及lex et iustitia（拉丁语“法律及正义）。[11][12]
