The 1977 season was the first in the National Soccer League for Adelaide City Football Club. In addition to the domestic league, Adelaide City competed in the NSL Cup.[1] The record for most goals in a game in Australia, was set by Adelaide City and Mooroolbark where Adelaide won 10–3 in Adelaide.[2]
