YB Datuk Annuar Ayub @ Banand (also known as Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman, Abbreviation AAA) is a Malaysian politician from Liawan, Sabah region.[3] He is the STAR Vice president representing Liawan constituency and also the Sabah State Assemblyman for the Liawan constituency, replacing Rasinin Kautis after winning the seat in the 2020 Sabah state election.[4][5] He became the official member of Homeland Solidarity Party (STAR), the component party of GRS since 2018. He started his career as politician in 18 December 2018 after Annuar officially joined the Homeland Solidarity Party (STAR).[6]

Political career

Annuar Ayub started his political career by joining Sabah STAR Party on 18 December 2018. He has become a key member of Sabah STAR Party because of the contributions he has given to people around Keningau, especially in his own place in Liawan. In 2020, he became a Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly for the Liawan constituency (representing GRS-STAR), replacing Rasinin Kautis after winning the Liawan seat. After his victory in the 2020 Sabah state election in Liawan constituency, he was appointed as the Vice President of Sabah STAR Party representing Liawan constituency.[7]

Family in politics

Annuar Ayub is the son of Datuk Ayub Aman who was a Minister in Sabah during the Sabah People's United Party from 1976 to 1984. His uncle, Musa Aman is the former Chief Minister of Sabah, while his other uncle, Anifah Aman is the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and was later appointed President of Sabah's Love Party who contested in the 2020 Sabah state election.[8]

His cousin, Yamani Hafez Musa is a Member of Parliament for Sipitang who is a member of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GAGASAN Rakyat), a major component party in[9]Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).[10][11]
