Ethnicity
The Borella Polling Division has a Sinhalese majority (57.8%), a significant Sri Lankan Tamil population (19.9%) and a significant Moor population (19.1%) . In comparison, the Colombo Electoral District (which contains the Borella Polling Division) has a Sinhalese majority (76.5%), a significant Moor population (10.7%) and a significant Sri Lankan Tamil population (10.1%) [1]
Religion
The Borella Polling Division has a Buddhist majority (53.7%), a significant Muslim population (21.8%) and a significant Hindu population (13.2%) . In comparison, the Colombo Electoral District (which contains the Borella Polling Division) has a Buddhist majority (70.2%) and a significant Muslim population (11.8%) [1]
