CSI Sanatan is a 2023 Indian Telugu-language crime thriller film written and directed by debutant Sivashankar Dev and produced by Ajay Srinivas under Chaganti Productions. It stars Aadi Saikumar^[1] and Misa Narang, Nandini Rai, Tarak Ponnappa and Ali Reza in pivotal roles.^[2] The story revolves around Crime scene investigation (CSI) officer investigating company CEO's murder mystery.^[3] The music for the film was composed by Aneesh Solomon, while the cinematography and editing was handled by Ganganamoni Shekar and Amar Reddy respectively. The film was theatrically released on 10 March 2023.^[4][5]

Premise

Vikram Chakravarty runs a big financial firm, which seems to like helping middle classes. During a party, everyone becomes intoxicated, and Vikram is shot dead by an unknown assailant. Crime scene investigation (CSI) Sanatan leads the investigation with his friend Inspector Rudra.

Then, it reveals Sanatan's past. Once Sanatan is a criminology student and a police aspirant preparing for Sub-Inspector exams along with Rudra. Being a student, Sanatan cracked a criminal case and caught the criminal with his intellect. There, he was in love with Sudheeksha, an engineering student. In one fine incident, his brother in law was murdered by a criminal, which affected his focus later. Later, he could not crack his final attempt for the police exams. Later, Sudheeksha breaks up with him for unknown reasons. Later, as per his brother in law's wish, he thinks positively and completed a foresic degree in JNU. Then he joined CSI and started his carrier.

Coming back to the present, they find 5 prime suspects who work together with the intent to kill Vikram. They are Sudheeksha, Salim, Divya, Lasya and Srikanth who all are enployees in the company. Meanwhile, another dead body is discovered in the company building. these things leads to Sanatan discovers a Ponzi scheme run by Vikram with Minister Rajvardhan than Vikram's past life reveals.

Earlier Vikram runs a fake chit fund scam in his hometown runs with the money worth of 4 crores and however he meets the Minister Rajvardhan and his keep is non other than Divya. Then he introduced a ponzi scheme with the Rajvardhan's partnership and starts the scam which makes them riches and Vikram gets a good reputation in the society. The people who become cheated in this scheme were tried allege Vikram but trials were in vain. Except Divya all the suspects have the intent take revenge on Vikram for losing their loved one in his ponzy scheme. Even Sudheeksha lost her father because of this scheme who committed suicide, that is the reason she had been breakup with Sanatan. Later she joined in this office as an auditor though having an engineering degree for her time, to kill him.

After revealing the facts Sanatan reveals the actual killer that is none other than Divya who now became Vikram's PA. Because Vikram realized that the Ponzi scheme will be revealed soon and decided to escape with the public money. Then he sets private meeting with Rajvardhan for the share division before closing the business there Vikram cheats Rajvardhan by giving 10% of amount which worths 1000 crores of public money. Than a quarrel starts between both of them than Rajvardhan warns him to kill him. Later Divya asks about her share with Vikram then Vikram declines her share by telling "no shares were given to a bitch". By hearing that word the angered Divya makes all the people intoxicated in there drinks including Vikram. After that she killed Vikram in highly consuming alcoholic stage.

Finally film ends with Sanatan gains all the money and give back to the people through the government help and reveals the whole scam and arrests Divya and Rajvardhan. Sudheeksha starts her relationship again with Sanatan.

The movie released on 10 March 2023 in more than 300 theaters worldwide.^[1]

Reception

CSI Sanatan received mixed reviews from critics and audience.123Telugu gave the film a rating of 2+3⁄4 out of 5 stars and wrote, "This film showcases Aadi from a new angle and proves that he can tackle out-and-out serious subjects. He delivered his best performance as a CSI officer.The story is nothing new to our audiences, but the investigation scenes, laced with some twists and turns, create curiosity and make one enjoy the film.^[7] ABP Live Telugu gave the film 2.5 out of 5 stars and stated, "CSI Sanathan' is a passable thriller. If you go to the theatre without any expectations, you can pass the time. Aadi Sai Kumar has once again come to the audience with a good concept-based movie.^[8] Avad Mohammad of OTTplay gave it 2.5 out of 5 stars and wrote,"CSI Sanatan is a murder mystery that has a familiar premise with a few decent twists and turns that director Shivashanker Dev has created. The manner in which he executes the investigation scenes forms the main crux of the film. The few twists that are showcased create decent excitement for the audience and give this film an edge.^[9]
