Capachica District is one of fifteen districts of the province Puno in Peru.[1] Its seat is Capachica.
Ethnic groups
The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (87.17%) learnt to speak in childhood, 12.37% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language according to a 2007 Peru Census.[2]
