The Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) or the Directorate General "Civil Aviation Administration" (DG CAA; Bulgarian: Главна дирекция "Гражданска въздухоплавателна администрация", ГД ГВА) is an agency of the government of Bulgaria, headquartered in Sofia. It is within the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications.[1]

The CEO of the CAA is a legal entity. It receives support from the state budget within the framework of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications with headquarters in Sofia. The Directorate General "Civil Aviation Administration" consists of five regional departments - airport administrations, as provided for in paragraph 4 of article 48a of the Law on Civil Aviation. The Director General of the CAA performs the functions of the Civil Aviation Administration in accordance with the Law on Civil Aviation and International Conventions and Agreements to which the Republic of Bulgaria is a party.[2]
