David Kordansky Gallery is an art gallery that was established by David Kordansky in 2003 in the Chinatown neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.[1]
History
The gallery was founded by David Kordansky, a former conceptual and performance artist.[2] Initially created as an incubator for emerging talent, but in the mid-2000s, it grew into an internationally focused gallery.[3][1] In 2008, the gallery opened its main location in Culver City and, in 2014, expanded to Los Angeles's Mid-City district. In 2022, the gallery opened a new space in New York City.[4]
Artistic Program
The gallery represents the works of Tala Madani, Sam Gilliam, Richard Tuttle,Tom of Finland, Rashid Johnson, Betty Woodman, Martha Diamond, Jonas Wood.[5] David Kordansky Gallery has gained attention in the art world as representing diversity and particularly responding openly and publicly to the Black Lives Matter movement and representing artists from diverse backgrounds.[6][7]
