David Leonard is a contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter, and record producer, best known as one half of the Grammy-nominated duo All Sons & Daughters, along with Leslie Jordan. Leonard was also in the band Jackson Waters and a touring member of NEEDTOBREATHE. He is currently a solo artist signed to Provident Label Group.[1]

Background

David Leonard grew up in southeast Arkansas. His father worked at a college to be a pastor at their home church. Leonard was 15 years old at the time and already playing guitar. His father asked him to lead a service at one of his last college events. A song he would write later in his career, “Good Lord,” came from that night.[2]

Career

After graduating college, Leonard would begin playing as part of a Christian Southern Rock band called 'Jackson Waters'. The band would move to Nashville and sign a record deal.[3]

After Jackson Waters ended, Leonard landed a regular touring gig, playing keys out on the road for rock band NEEDTOBREATHE.[4]

In 2009, Leonard started writing songs with fellow worship leader Leslie Anne Jordan. Together, they would form the duo All Sons & Daughters.[5]

Following the release of three independent EPs, All Sons & Daughters signed to Integrity Music, and released the albums Season One, Live, All Sons & Daughters and Poets & Saints, which all reached the US Christian album charts.[6]

In February 2018, after taking a year off, the duo announced that their "season as a band had come to an end."[7]

Following the disbanding of All Sons & Daughters, Leonard started The Creak Music, a new production team and indie label with friends Seth Talley and Brad King.[8]

Leonard released his debut solo album The Wait on March 15th, 2019.[9]

In February 2022, Leonard released his debut single "Every Hour" on his new record album Provident Label Group.[10]
