David Wakefield (4 May 1936 – 14 September 2022) was an English professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s and 1960s. He played at club level for Stanley Rangers ARLFC, Wakefield Trinity (Heritage No. 632), and Doncaster (Heritage No. 190),[1] as a hooker, i.e. number 9, during the era of contested scrums.[2]
Wakefield died on 14 September 2022, at the age of 86.[3]
