Derek Reisfield is best known as co-founder and chairman[1] of MarketWatch,[2] a leading online financial news platform.
Education
Reisfield graduated from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut and received a Master's Degree from The Annenberg School at University of Southern California.[3][4]
Career
Reisfield consulted with McKinsey & Company, a leading international strategy consulting firm.[5]
Reisfield then joined Westinghouse as Director of Strategic Management.[6] to assist with the purchase of CBS.[7] Westinghouse purchased CBS Inc. for $5.4 billion.[8]
Reisfield was named CBS' Vice President of Business Development, President of its New Media Group. He was responsible for web-based operations, including CBS.com[9]
In 1997, Reisfield founded and chaired MarketWatch[10] [11][12] and took it public in 1999.[13] Dow Jones & Company later acquired MarketWatch for over $500 million.[14]
Reisfield served as Member of the Board for Sportsline USA.[15]
In 2008, Reisfield was co-founder[16]and chairman of BBN, the leading B2B digital advertising network, in partnership with 24/7 Real Media, Inc.[17] BBN became the nation’s largest B2B online advertising network. [18] BBN was sold to Madison Logic in 2015.[19]
Reisfield serves on the Advisory Board of AllSides. [20]
He is the great nephew of the actress Greta Garbo.[21]
