Doncaster City Football Club are an English amateur football club based in Doncaster who compete in the Central Midlands League North Division.[2]
History
The club was established in 2022 by agent Willie McKay,[3] and were initially placed into the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior Football League for the 2022–23 season,[4] in which they were crowned champions of Division Two. However, they withdrew from this league after one season and instead joined the Central Midlands Alliance for the 2023–24 season.[5]
They received national attention following a request to join the Scottish Cup attempting to exploit a loophole arguing that Doncaster was a part of Scotland as the Treaty of Durham which gave the city to Scotland was never officially withdrawn.[6]
Ground
Doncaster City currently groundshare with Armthorpe Welfare at the Welfare Ground.[7]
