All of Dune's designs are handcrafted in their New England studio using sand or elements representing your favorite beach, golf course or ballpark, pressed flowers from a wedding or funeral, or soil representing your favorite trail.

Background

In 2007, Christensen started making sand jewelry for family and friends, by 2010 she launched Dune Jewelry and served as its chief operating officer since.[3] Over the years, the company's Sandbank– the world's largest– had collected 5,500 samples from beaches, sports venues, trails, mountaintops, historical locations and iconic events from all over the globe.[4][5] The company's handcrafted products have since been distributed by over 800 retailers worldwide.[6][7][8]

Recognition

  • In 2018, Inc. magazine included the company in their annual list of fastest-growing companies, listing a three-year revenue growth of 164% and a 2017 revenue of $3.4 million.[9][10]
  • In 2017, the company was awarded the Women-Owned Business of the Year Award for Massachusetts and New England.[11]

Philanthropy

Dune Jewelry has donated over $250,000 to charitable organizations since 2010. The charitable causes were mostly of environmental concern, particularly coastal preservation efforts. Dune Jewelry has also partnered with several sustainable companies, including 4ocean, a partnership that has pulled over 20,000lbs of plastic from oceans throughout the world. [12][13][14][15]

The Cove by Dune Jewelry was created in 2023 by Holly Daniels Christensen. Located in front of Dune Jewelry's Manufacturing Studio, The Cove offers not only a unique array of Dune Jewelry, it's a beach themed boutique that is committed to presenting a collection of products that inspire mind, body, and spirit. We strive to highlight goods that are environmentally friendly, and sustainably sourced.[16]
