Edward Ayearst Reeves (1862–1945)[1] was a British geographer, astronomer, and cartographer. He was a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society beginning in 1896, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society from 1900,[2] and won the Cullum Geographical Medal in 1922 and the Victoria Medal in 1928.[3]
Reeves became a Junior Assistant in the map room of the Royal Geographical Society at age 16, and became a map curator in 1900.[3] Reeves was also an author of multiple written works, most notably including editing the ninth edition of Hints to Travellers (1906),[4] as well as authoring Trigonometry, Plane and Spherical (1904),[5] Maps and Map-Making (1910),[6][7] and The Recollections of a Geographer (1935).[8][9]
