The estuaries of Western Australia (also known as the Inlets of Western Australia)[1] are located along the coastline of Western Australia.
The coastline can be considered in three main sections: south,[2][3] west, and Kimberley. Some estuarine features carry through all three regions.[4]
Wetlands and estuaries of the south west region have very similar ecologies and occurrences of biota.[5][6]
South
The estuary/inlet names do not necessarily relate to the names of the rivers that flow into them.

Notes
- ↑ The distinction between the two is that inlets do not necessarily have rivers entering into them, whereas estuaries do for the condition of their names, but inlets can have contributory rivers or other associated water bodies.
