The European Environmental Press (EEP) is a Europe-wide association comprising over a dozen environmental magazines with a combined circulation of 800,000. Each member is recognized as a leader in its country, dedicated to fostering connections among 400,000 environmental professionals across Europe in both public and private sectors. EEP serves as a collaborative network for prominent national business-to-business magazines, facilitating the dissemination of high-quality environmental information throughout Europe. The target audience for EEP includes highly educated individuals, addressing diverse environmental issues such as water supply, waste management, recycling, land remediation, air pollution, noise, energy, tracking technologies, and environmental administration. The magazine maintains a technologically optimistic approach, focusing on innovative solutions to environmental challenges.

EEP honors companies with awards for creating efficient environmental solutions and contributing to environmental improvement. In collaboration with Pollutec, a French trade-show company endorsed by the European Network of Environmental Professionals (EFAP), applications are open to all. Following submission, a committee reviews applicants and nominates ten individuals. Subsequently, the committee selects three winners—gold, silver, and bronze—awarding them medals. Gold winners receive featured coverage in EEP magazines and the opportunity to present their projects at conferences across Europe, with Pollutec being the most prominent. Nominees, even if not winning, often receive recognition in the magazine.

China and the European Environmental Press

The Guardian and the EEP collaborated in May 2010 in recognizing China's efforts at reducing pollution and taking steps towards a more sustainable future. This was also a journalism event, honoring journalists who were doing new and thorough investigations of the country's environment.[1]
