Farshut (Arabic: فرشوط, from Coptic: ⲧⲃⲉⲣϭⲱⲧ, lit. 'the pond'[2]) is a city in the Qena Governorate, Egypt. Its population was estimated at 70,000 people in 2020.[3] The Markaz of Farshut has around 200,000 people.
