Gabie Ntaate, also known as Gabriella Bridget Ntaate (born on April 14, 1992) is a Ugandan gospel singer. She won Sauti Awards after beating six renowned continental gospel competitors for the crown.[1] She also won the Zouk Song of the Year 2021 together with Levixone, Pastor Wilson Bugembe more other artists.[2][3]

Early life and education

Gabriella Bridget Ntaate, a Munyoro by birth, was born on April 14, 1992, into a family comprising four girls and three boys. Following the early demise of her parents, Ntaate resided with her uncle and aunt in Kireka. She completed her Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) at Shimoni, pursued her O’levels at St. Lawrence, and furthered her education with A’levels at St. Noah Zana. She obtained a bachelor's degree in library and information science from Makerere University, along with undertaking a course in fashion design at Tina International School.[4]

Career

Gabie Ntaate was an actress with her first role as Fatima, a nurse, in the television series Second Chance in 2014. She later showcased her talent in the captivating drama Burn it Up, both of which were aired on NTV Uganda, Nation Media's flagship channel.[5]Ntaate started her music career as a cover artist in 2016 under a band called Mute band and other live bands for a duration of approximately two years prior to the release of her debut single, titled "Wano," in the year 2018. She is identifies as a follower of the Seventh-day Adventist religious denomination.[3] Gabie Ntaate joined Spark TV in September 2018, alongside Nation Media Uganda, where she was paired with her co-host following the departure of the popular duo Zahara Totto and Anna Talia Oze from the show a job she quite in 2021 to focus on her music career. In 2022, Gabie formed another band of her own and her aim was to be able to produced more songs than in the past.[6]
