She has been referred to as "the woman in the black dress" (Hebrew: האישה בשמלה השחורה) due to a video of her taken after her murder which. It has been used as evidence of sexual and gender-based violence in the 7 October attack on Israel.

Video

A video reviewed by the New York Times included "a woman in a black dress lying on her back, dress torn, legs spread, vagina exposed" with her face completely charred, whom Israeli police officials believed to have been raped.[2] The Times and Israeli authorities identified the woman as Gal Abdush.
