Gausiya Masjid is a historical mosque in the Mehrauli area of Delhi, India. It has a 700 year-old mosque and was built during the Lodi dynasty.[1][2][3]
History
The mosque was named for Sufi saint Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani, who is often called Gaus Ul Adham.
The mosque was demolished by Delhi Development Authority in 2012.[4][5][6][7] The mosque is half-built due to the demolition.[8] The Eid and Jumma Prayers are conducted in the garden behind the mosque.[9] A committee is attempting to preserve the mosque.[10] Shia cleric Kalbe Jawwad raised the issue and asked to boycott congress.[11]
