Gorton and Denton is a proposed constituency of the House of Commons in the UK Parliament.[1] Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, it will first be contested at the next general election.[2]
Boundaries
The constituency will be composed of the following (as they existed on 1 December 2020):
- The City of Manchester wards of: Burnage; Gorton & Abbey Hey; Levenshulme; Longsight.
- The Metropolitan Borough of Tameside wards of: Denton North East; Denton South; Denton West.[3]
The constituency will comprise the following areas:[4]
- Gorton, Levenshulme and Longsight, currently part of the (to be abolished) constituency of Manchester Gorton
- Burnage, transferred from Manchester Withington
- The three wards which make up the town of Denton, currently part of the (to be abolished) constituency of Denton and Reddish
