Guimara Upazila (Bengali: গুইমারা উপজেলা) is an upazila (sub-district) of Khagrachhari District, Chittagong Division, Bangladesh.
History
Guimara Upazila was established as an upazila on 30 November 2020. As of 2020 the administrative building has not been built. The upazila is administered from Guimara Union Parishad Complex Bhaban due to the lack of a purpose built administrative building.[1] Brigadier General Mohammad Shahriar Jaman is the commander of the Guimara region.[2]

It has an area of 243.46 km2.
The upazila has three unions:[3]
- Guimara Union
- Halfchari Union
- Sindukchhari Union
Demographics
As of the 2011 Bangladesh census, what is now Guimara upazila had 9,335 households and a population of 44,202. 12,664 (28.65%) were under 10 years of age. Guimara had an average literacy rate of 37.27%, compared to the national average of 51.8%, and a sex ratio of 939 females per 1000 males. The entire population was rural.[4] The ethnic population was 29,903 (67.65%), of which Marma were 17,702, Tripura 8,493 and Chakma 3,560.[5]
