Hernán Grüber Odremán (17 February 1940 – 12 April 2021) was a Venezuelan politician.

He served as Governor of the Federal District of Venezuela from 1998 to 2000, having been appointed to that role by Hugo Chavez. Prior to that he served in the Bolivarian Navy of Venezuela, rising to the rank of Rear Admiral.

In 1992 he was involved in the unsuccessful February 1992 Venezuelan coup attempt, for which he was later jailed for 27 years, due to his participation. He was pardoned by Rafael Caldera.[1][2]

Death

Odremán died of complications from COVID-19 on 12 April 2021, at the age of 81.[3]
