Ibrahim Sani (born 9 July 1984) is the CEO of Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputra.[3]
He was previously an investment banker with CIMB. Prior to that, he was an Executive Editor with Astro Awani.
Early life and education
Ibrahim Sani received a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the International Islamic University Malaysia.[4]
Career
High-profile TV interviews
In 2015, Ibrahim interviewed the CEO of 1MDB, Arul Kanda Kandasamy at the Business Radio Station BFM 89.9,[5] where Arul refuted [6] all allegations levelled against the state-owned enterprise, including tempering with the audit reports of 1MDB.[7] Arul Kanda alleged that 'people refused to listen to 1MDB's point of view as the people find the facts 'boring'.[8] However, this denial has been proven untrue in the courts, as the 1MDB case continues to be heard in the court of law.[9][10]
Interviews with corporate captains
Ibrahim's mainstay in broadcast is usually interviewing business leaders of Malaysia, such as with PETRONAS",[11] and Principal Financial Group,[12] or with Telekom Malaysia,[13] and also with Sime Darby Property.[14]
He also speaks frequently on-air with leaders in the Banking and Insurance industries such as with Liberty Mutual,[15] and with Bank Islam Malaysia.[16]
Interviews with mid-sized companies and startups
Ibrahim also speaks often with startup founders and owners of mid-sized companies such as with Ride-hailing firm Sooka,[17] and with Kenanga Futures,[18] or with on-demand marketing firm Dattel Asia.[19]

Amongst interviews with publicly elected officials are with Former Finance Minister of Malaysia Lim Guan Eng,[20] former Minister in charge of Law Reforms Nancy Shukri,[21] as well as academics and activists such as with Universiti Oxford Blavatnik School of Government,[22] and with the Rector of International Islamic University Malaysia Dzulkifli Abdul Razak,[23] as well as with public advocacy group REFSA.[24]

Ibrahim is often invited to be a speaker with various statutory bodies and regulators such as with the Securities Commission Malaysia, the Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC),[25] as well as with Bursa Malaysia,[26] and with insurance firm Fi Life.[27]
He is also a regular speaker at PR conferences such as the Asia 'Marketing Interactive Conference'.[28]
In the news
Ibrahim was appointed as the CEO of Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera [29] following the departure of the previous incumbent.
Ibrahim spoke about the 2022 Malaysian general election, where Mediacorp reported on his reporting.[30] Sinar Harian reported on Ibrahim's comments regarding the election process of Parti Keadilan Rakyat.[31] He was also involved in the controversy regarding former singer Hattan where there was an on-air abuse by the singer to a broadcast journalist.[32]
He is also cited on tech media, such as by Soya Cincau on 5G,[33] The Star (Malaysia) and The Sun (Malaysia) regarding the semiconductor issues,[34][35] He was also reported by World Of Buzz, regarding the Twitter activities of imprisoned former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak.[36]
