Idlib University Hospital (Arabic: مشتشفى إدلب الجامعي) is the first free academic medical teaching hospital established in northwestern Syria in Idlib in 2020.[1]

Departments

Idlib University Hospital includes the following departments:[2]

  • Department of general and specialized outpatient clinics.
  • Ambulance and Emergency Department.
  • Department of Internal Medicine: (general - cardiac - thoracic - digestive - endocrine - neurological).
  • Department of Surgery: (general - cardiac - urinary - neurological - maxillofacial - plastic - vascular).
  • Radiology Department: (simple, echo, CT scan, MRI).
  • Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Surgery.
  • Department of Ophthalmology and Surgery.
  • Department of children and incubators.
  • Department of Physical Therapy.
  • Laboratory department.

Capacity

The current capacity of the hospital is 120 beds distributed as follows:[2]

  • 45 beds in the Wings.
  • 10 beds in the Day Surgery Wing.
  • 16 beds in the accommodation wing in the Emergency Department.
  • 25 beds in the Children's Wing.
  • 25 beds in the Intensive Care Unit.

In addition to two emergency operation rooms and six general and specialized operating rooms.

Clinical Training

The hospital aims to train over a thousand university students in their clinical stage and prepare them to enter and work in hospitals. These include:[2]

  • Graduate students pursuing their specialties.
  • Undergraduate students in the first stage of medical school.
  • Students of health sciences colleges and medical institutes.
