Ingoldsby is a rural locality in the Lockyer Valley Region, Queensland, Australia.[2] In the 2016 census, Ingoldsby had a population of 70 people.[1]

History

Hessenburg Provisional School opened on 11 June 1894. On 1 January 1909, it became Hessenburg State School. Due to anti-German sentiment during World War I, the district was renamed Ingoldsby[3][4] and in 1916 the school was renamed Ingoldsby State School. It closed on 9 August 1974.[5] It was at 1128-1130 Ingoldsby Road (27°43′20″S 152°15′42″E / 27.7222°S 152.2616°E / -27.7222; 152.2616 (Ingoldsby State School)).[6][7][8]

In the 2016 census, Ingoldsby had a population of 70 people.[1]
