Institutional League, officially known as the Hero Institutional League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp, is an Indian men's professional football league starting from the 2023–24 season.[1][2]

AIFF announced in the press conference on April 14 that in a new Institutional League will be organised with at least 10 teams which will play on home and away basis.[3] The teams will be decided via bidding process.

History

After the disbanding of PSU clubs for not fulfilling AFC club licensing criteria, the All India Football Federation was planning to make a corporate-clubs league in July 2017. A proposal was sent to the All India Public Sector Sports Promotion Board (AIPSSPB), but it was not organised then.[4][5]
