International University for Science and Technology (IUST) (IUST; Arabic: الْجَامِعَةُ الدَّوْلِيَّةُ الْخَاصَّةُ لِلْعُلُومِ وَالتِّكْنُولُوجِيَا, romanized: al-Jāmiʿat ad-Dawlīyat al-Khāṣṣat li l-ʿUlūm wa t-Tiknūlūjiyā)[1] is a private university established in 2005, located in the city of Ghabagheb in Daraa Governorate, Syria. The university has seven faculties: dentistry, pharmacy, engineering and technology, information technology, business administration and finance, arts and sciences, and Architecture. The university has a liaison office at Damascus, Al Mazzeh Eastern villas.
History
After the beginning of the Syrian civil war in 2011, the university headquarters moved temporarily in 2013 to Damascus city in Kiwan opposite Tishreen Park near Umayyad Square, and the university continued in Kiwan until 2019 when it returned to its original headquarters in Ghabagheb, Daraa.
Message and Vision
The vision of IUST[2] is to become a worldwide center dedicated for excellence and creativity through its quality-oriented programs & scientific researches, through the quality initiative character, integrity, and commitment of its graduates, and by the active contribution to the human development on both local and regional levels. Based on its mission,[3] International University for Science and Technology is committed to academic excellence regarding the quality of education and its means in order to comply with the technological advancement, and to take part in the education of the whole person to suit all his needs on both scientific and cultural levels, to create an academic environment that develops research opportunities, and provide active community services. As of 2023, the president of the university[4] is Prof. Ammar Naser Agha (There a number of previous presidents[5] of the university), and the dean of students affairs is Dr. Waed Omran.[6] There are multiple faculty members as board of trustees,[7] advisory board,[8] trade union unity[9] and university council.[10]

Services at IUST
International University for Science and Technology serves two types of services. The first one is for the students,[18] and the second one is for the teachers.[19]

As of August 2022, the university ranked 425 at the Arab Level and 7251 internationally, according to Webometrics for ranking universities.
Electronic Education Gate of IUST
Edugate[20][21] is a system composed of several services for visitors to the gate and the students[22][23][24] and teachers. It eases dealin with the academic system of the University and provides as much information to its users, while ensuring the validity and accuracy of information and updated directly.Edugate works in both Arabic and English, smooth and can be used by everyone, thus decreases headache in the University departments and saves time and effort.
Sustainable Development office
The sustainable development office at International University for Science and Technology[25] started in 2023. The office focuses on the SDGs at the university.
Scientific Research at International University for Science and Technology
There are multiple scientific research projects and published articles at International University for Science and Technology. For example, published articles of Faculty of Dentistry about dental implant,[26][27] frenectomy,[28] and tumors.[29][30][31][32] These projects are from Faculty of Dentistry clinics[33] at International University for Science and Technology.
