James Lutz (born March 31, 1998)[1] is an American compound archer. He became world champion in the men's individual compound event at the 2019 World Archery Championships held in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.[1][2] He is the fifth compound archer from the United States to become world champion in this event.[2][3] In the final, he defeated Anders Faugstad of Norway.[2]
In 2020, he finished in 26th place in the men's compound event at The Vegas Shoot held in Las Vegas, United States.[4]
In 2021, Lutz won the gold medal in the men's team event at the World Archery Championships held in Yankton, United States.[5][6]
Lutz represented the United States at the 2022 World Games held in Birmingham, Alabama, United States.[7][8] He competed in the men's individual compound event.[8] He won two medals at the 2022 Pan American Archery Championships held in Santiago, Chile.[9]
