KC Overseas Education is an Indian edtech company founded in 1998 and headquartered in Nagpur, Maharashtra. It has 65 offices across eleven countries.[2][3]
History
Pankaj Agrawal, Co-Founder and CEO of KC Overseas Education, was the chairman at the Nagpur Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Before that, from 1988 to 1998, he worked as a Partner at K M Agrawal and Co. Chartered Accountants in India. In 1998, he and Nalini Agrawal, who has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, founded KC Overseas Education in Nagpur.[4]
In 2018, the company opened its first international office in Colombo. Later, it expanded to include operations in Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria.[1][5]
In the same year, the company launched Course Finder, a tech platform created to assist with the study abroad process.The platform has a database of 85,000 courses.[4]
In 2019, the company created the ÉLAN fintech platform to help students with the financial aspects of studying abroad. The platform has formed partnerships with 17 banks, NBFCs, international lenders, and financial institutions in India.[6]
In 2020, KC Overseas Education invested $3 million in the development of Course Finder, and an additional $2 million in ÉLAN.[4]
The company claims to have partnerships with over 750 universities in 31 study destinations, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Europe, and Asia.[2]
CSR activities
KC Overseas Education took part in a social outreach initiative at The Home of Aged and Handicapped in Utkhana, Nagpur. The initiative aimed to aid the education and rehabilitation of 180 handicapped children.[7]
Awards
- 2022: Received the 'Top Agency of the Year' award in 2022 from Cambrian College, Canada.[1]
- 2022: Received the 'Top Recruitment Partner' award from Newcastle University, UK, for helping recruit the highest number of students to study abroad.[8]
- 2023: Received the 'International Education Excellence Award' from Pearson in the field of education abroad.[6]
