Tips Industries Limited is an Indian music record label and film production, film promotion, and film distribution company in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It was founded by Kumar S. Taurani and Ramesh S. Taurani in 1975. Its distributors serve more than 1,000 wholesalers and 400,000 retailers across India.[2]
History
After seeing great success in the LP’s business in Western India, the Taurani brothers first established Tips Cassettes & Records Co as a partnership firm in 1988. The firm's main interest lied in manufacture and trade of audio and video cassettes. For this purpose, it set up its first manufacturing facility in 1990 in Palghar, Maharashtra. In 1992, R.K Electronics was dissolved and merged with Tips. In 1996, the firm was converted into a joint stock company and renamed Tips Industries Private Limited. The second facility for manufacturing blank and pre recorded audio cassettes was opened in 1997 in the city of Silvassa. The company went public on 1st July, 1999. Tips Industries has further ventured into south Indian and international music markets Today, it also handles film production.[3][4]
